As the festive season approaches, Ross Travel Group would like to help our passengers plan their journeys by sharing our Christmas and New Year service arrangements for December 2025 and early January.

We understand how important reliable transport is during the holiday period. Whether you’re travelling to work, visiting family and friends, or simply enjoying a well-earned break. Please take a moment to read the information below and plan ahead, as several services will finish earlier than normal or not operate on certain days.

Normal Service Days

The following dates will operate normal bus services:

• Tuesday 23rd December
• Monday 29th December
• Tuesday 30th December
• Friday 2nd January – Normal service resumes

Additionally, Saturday 27th December will operate a normal Saturday service.

Christmas Eve – Early Finishes

On Wednesday 24th December (Christmas Eve), services will run but will finish earlier than usual. Please note the last journeys for each route:

• Service 144
  Last run from Pontefract at 14:25
  Last run from Castleford at 13:55
• Service 146
  Last run from Pontefract at 13:45
  Last run from Castleford at 14:30
• Service 158
  Last run from Castleford at 14:15
  Last run from Knottingley at 13:15

We strongly recommend passengers allow extra time and aim to travel earlier in the day on Christmas Eve.

No Service Days

There will be no bus services operating on the following dates:

• Thursday 25th December (Christmas Day)
• Friday 26th December (Boxing Day)
• Sunday 28th December
• Thursday 1st January (New Year’s Day)

New Year’s Eve

On Wednesday 31st December (New Year’s Eve), services will operate to the same timetable as Christmas Eve, with early finishes in place.
