Day 1: Coach trip to Torquay in one of our luxury coaches
On Monday our passengers set out on a 5-day turkey and tinsel tour to Torquay. After local home pickups were completed, passengers travelled in a modern, clean tour coach equipped with all modern safety systems, and traveled to the TLH Derwent Hotel Torquay, making comfort stops on the way and arriving late afternoon.
Passengers enjoyed a lovely evening meal and evening entertainment in the main lounge.
Day 2: A Free day followed by a festive 3-course meal
Today passengers had a free day in Torquay, but that didn’t stop the fun as we had lots of options included as part of our coach holiday in Torquay.
The seafront, harbour and town centre are all within short walking distance of the hotel so most of our passengers went for a look around. Some passengers decided to stay at the hotel and enjoy the daytime entertainment including a visit from Santa Claus himself.
The passengers then enjoyed a beautifully cooked festive 3-course meal followed by the evening’s entertainment of bingo, before a comedian/magician and some dancing.
Day 3: Coach visits around Torquay
After another enjoyable breakfast at the TLH Derwent, passengers were taken to Teignmouth which has a vast array of big named and small independent local traders with stunning views across Torbay.
After a couple of hours passengers were taken to the beautiful coastal town of Dawlish, home of the black swans and the best clotted cream ice cream to be found! With its stream and water falls casually flowing through the middle of the town Dawlish is a place everyone should visit. With lovely places to eat, drink and shop.
Finally, in what was a very busy day, passengers were taken to the house of marbles in Bovey Tracey, on the edge of Dartmoor. A former mill and now a shop and restaurant, selling glass ware, much of which can be seen been made on site, also with working, intricate marble runs.
Finally, passengers enjoyed another 3-course evening meal before taking their seats for more excellent entertainment at the hotel.
Day 4: A coach trip to Dartmouth including a river boat cruise
After breakfast passengers were taken to Dartmouth. A beautiful, picturesque town on the river Dart. With many nice places to eat and drink and independent traders with unique gifts, Dartmouth has a truly continental feel.
Many of our passengers chose to go on the 1-hour river boat cruise, which takes them on the River, past the Beautiful multi coloured houses and the Britannia Royal Naval College.
After a few hours in Dartmouth, passengers were taken Buckfast Abbey for an hour. Home to a group of Benedictine monks. The Abbey has an interesting history and despite being destroyed by Henry VIII, it was rebuilt by hand with tools as it was originally in 1018. The monks who live there today are completely self-sufficient, growing and selling their own food and drink.
Passengers then returned to the hotel, for one final evening meal and night of fantastic entertainment.
Day 5: Perfect end to our coach holiday to Torquay
After the final delicious breakfast at the hotel, passengers cases were be loaded onto the coach before making the journey back home, with a stop for lunch en-route.
Our passengers have thoroughly enjoyed their coach holiday to Torquay and their stay at the TLH Derwent Hotel. We will definitely be back to this resort in 2023!
